According to sistrix study on billions of search results they have found that over a quarter of people click on first link on first page of google.

According to a recent published study, google search’s first link has have a click through rate of 28.5% 

A study conducted by Sistrix, examining more than 80 million keywords and billions of search results, reveals how users interact with search engine results pages (SERPs).

The research highlights a significant drop in the average click-through rate (CTR) after the top position, with the second and third spots achieving only 15% and 11% CTR, respectively.

Predictably, the CTR for results in the tenth spot on Google falls to a mere 2.5%, illustrating how critical it is to rank higher in search results.

This survey was done to understand how important it is to rank first on page and even more than that how important it is to rank at the top.

Key findings indicate that the CTR for the top position can vary greatly, ranging from 13.7% to 46.9%, depending on several factors.
